Non paying timewasters on ebay- good story for sellers

I thought I would share this story with you so you can gloat like me :p and also realise what rights you have concerning non payers, who ruin auctions.
Before on ebay when someone never paid you might have been hesitent in leaving a negative incase you got one in return.
Recently I sold an item and the usual process of buyer saying would send cheque- one week no cheque. I then started the non payer strike, she then respond in a personalised message saying the cheque would be sent and the usual excuse- problems wth her computer. I knew this was lie as I checked her bidding history and she had been on ebay over the week. 10 days later still no cheque and no contact. So I sent a strike and left a negative with comments to avoid and that this was a non payer. That was 4 days ago and I returned home to find she left negative feedback saying I had taken her money and never sent the item , and to avoid me. However she has obviousily not read ebays new rules about not taking part in the non payer process.I was unaware fully how it worked but ebay automatically removed her neg and put comments that the buyer had been striked for non payment and feedback ws removed. You dont need to complain to ebay- my goodness thay do it automatically. Her negative and comments that I gave still stand and her trying to abuse the system has just revealed what a liar she is.
Thank goodness now sellers can have some protection against these abusive nonpayers. So the next time you have to issue a non payer strike leave your negative and feel a bit better.

But if they do respond to the NPB process, no matter how little they write, the -ve will stand!!!

Ebay have not clarifed this but reading the rules for non paying process it looks like if they respond they can leave feedback.
I tend to find most non payers dont take part- for what reason I dont know. Nothing makes up for all the hassle it causes people when people dont pay but a least it stops a bit of the abuse- hopefully ebay will tighten up more. I thought by posting this it would answer some querys that people have had about leaving feedback for non payers.
It is the first time I have came across it since the new rules got introduced in november and sadly I hate to say it has certainly not been the frist non payer strike I have to give. But at least if they dont take part I can have my say and not have to live in fear of them continuing to lie in my feedback and damage my account- because they have no morals.
    Hopefully small acorns.....

    Agree.

I have about 5 open at the moment and isn't it funny as soon as you launch a NPB process, they suddenly discover the use of the keyboard and start communicating, even though they totally ignored you before.

If they do pay up after you have closed the NPB, you are actually able to remove the strike, not sure how this effects the feedback though.

Ebay have actually clarified this in their rules which they brought in last December. If a Non paying bidder replies officially to the dispute then nay feedback they leave will have the rating removed and an ebay note by the comments. Like razorbladekisses says the moment they respond to the dispute they stay eligible to leave feedback.

If an NPB later pays the feedback left can only be removed where both parties agree to remove both ets of feedback. Personally, I would refuse payment from an NPB and let the feedback stay.

It is very satisfying isn't it? I like to imagine their fury when they try and post a retaliatory one and the neg doesn't show...:T

this is good news, might be me but i've had about 5 NPB over the last month alone, this might have something to do with me not accepting paypal, but it states this in all my auctions (about 3 times) so i have a coupel of crafty negs i'm about to leave, better double check they didnt reply to my NPB alert first.

    thanks,

"Payment was very, very late. An exceptionally repulsive buyer. Terrifying buyer." :p
The above was from the eBay feedback generator.
