Help! LG American Fridge/Freezer R134A

Its no longer cold! Insured with Domestic & General engineer came out Tuesday am but not an engineer who can work with R134A systems apparently. So passed back to D&G to pass onto someone else. Noone can find an engineer who can deal with this - has anyone any ideas how to find someone suitable certificated in my area? Engineer who came said compressor very hot needs new condenser/compressor.

It is only 2 years old - came with the house when we bought it brand new in March 2008 so I understand Sale of Goods may come into play but really just want it fixed!

D&G will only give 1/2 towards new appliance which means we will have to fight builder/retailer of applicance under sale of goods maybe (?!) for the other 1/2 -

Has anyone any bright ideas!?

Surely an engineer if he needs a certificate would have to registered with a certain body - can I get a list of who is registered like a could for CORGI?

    Hi we have an LG USA fridge freezer but it is less than a year old so doubt it will be the same one..have no idea on model no though!

    When one of ours broke (as we had 4 before we got a good one..not scratched etc!) we had an engineer sent from LG..i'm sure you have tried them but have you actually called Lg as opposed to the D&G engineers?

    Good luck must be a nightmare. x

    Thought Id update everyone - still waiting!
    LG Customer Service Manager dealing - on holiday this week - didnt let me know - emailed to check for update Monday and got out of office reply - chased up LG via other contact - they will apparently come back asap(!) its been 2 1/2 weeks since involving LG with Domestic and General - 4 weeks without an appliance
    Dom & Gen said Manager would call me yesterday - no call still -
    I am at my wits end trying to go between the two! If anyone has any words of wisdom !!
    Gabyjane's contact was through the DSG group as bought from Currys but thanks for your help anyway Gaby!

    Ah apologies thought your fridge freezer was from Currys/Dixons etc. hope you get on ok x
