I am considering joining Pigsback - can anyone tell me how long each day you have to devote to it to make it worthwhile? Do you get vouchers for points & in which case what type of vouchers? Is Quidco the same sort of thing/better/worse? Sorry to ask such elementary questions but it would appear you are the experts?!0

Pigsback is relatively simple. Please read the guide on the first page on this thread and the second one which explains it all.
how much time you want to devote to it depends on how much you expect from it, joining the competitions takes 5-10 minutes of your day and you could win 1000 points. If you only log on once a week, CTs (free 10 points) appear every monday and then you get points for answering questions.
Quidco is a cashback site, slightly different strategy to pigsback.Basically, they use affiliate links and when they refer a certain number of business they get rewarded for it. They pass the rewards on to you so you benefit! There is a £5 admin fee a year and they give you 100% cashback. There's another thread on the referrer's board where you can ask questions!0 -

My OH just registered via Pigsback using the link gdfster gave even though when he searched Pigsback there was no mention of Mansion.
Whether they will honour the points for registering today is a different matter though...0 -

hey, this is just a theory...
from my limited computering as part of my maths degree, i gather that random number generators are actually pretty hard to write, and so i would guess that pigsback may be using locations / letters of the alphabet to narrow down the numbers before they choose winners (thus also ensuring not all winners are from a certain area etc.) in a method not dissimilar to stratified sampling, for any of you that have done any statistics. this would explain why on some days, winners are from the same regions & have the same name. i remember when i was younger my parents suspecting a similiar thing with a competition in a newspaper.
like i said, just my 2p, maybe pigsback aren't all evil...0 -
Well done to all winners, whether new piggies or 'oldies' or regardless of the fact that your mam, dad, sister or uncle Bob won it last week or not... :T
Personally I think its quite sad that some keep a track of all the winners, don't think I'd like to see my name posted* on here as some have been with queries made regarding past wins or similar names etc
** (in the rare event I should win anything more than once of course!)
Just my thoughts.....0 -
