What is the form on refunding postage

I sold a set of pearls that I thought were cultured. The buyer says they are not. I've got no reason to disbelieve them as I'm not an expert. So I refunded them the cost of the sale and told them that if they are really not cultured to bin them. Maybe I've been a mug here.
Anyhow they are now saying I need to refund the £3 postage that I charged and that they will take me to the resolution centre and they will refund the postage and if they have to do this they'll leave me negative feedback.
What would the resolution centre do. After all I've posted the item. I don't think I need to refund that.

You need to refund the postage if item was SNAD (which you're saying it was)0

The correct procedure in a SNAD dispute is for the buyer to send the item back via a tracked method. Once the seller has received the item the buyer is refunded.
So if your buyer opens a dispute and they haven't sent the item back you do not have to refund them anything as the buyer still has the item.
Out of goodwill you could refund the £3 postage to avoid negative feedback but then they might just leave neg anyway. My daughters are my world0 -

Actually for SNAD disputes the seller must refund all the original payment, including postage.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Think of it, like they have paid for cultured pearls to be delivered. Did you deliver cultured pearls? No. So you must refund the full payment.
On another note, is there a reason you thought they were cultured and they didn't? Are they being honest or was the auction a bit iffy?0
