paypal "payment released"?

hi there,

i sold a fireplace on ebay, winning bid was 80£.

was supposed to be coc but thats a different matter.

he paid via paypal on 19/05 and showed up in account, then yesturday i made a paypal transaction for the same amount which would of left my pp balance empty...now just had email saying payment hold now released??? with 77.08 in my pp balance.

does anyone know what this means?...

    If you are a new seller you may have been the subject of the 21 day rule by PP. They hold your funds until 21 days or feedback is left whichever is the soonest.

    If you sold for £80, then you would have fees to pay at source by paypal, so your £77.xx would be about right.

    With regards to the buyer, you do realise that if he disputes having the item, he can process a chargeback on your PP funds. You will only be able to defend it with a tracking ref which shows online as delivered.
