Is this quote for new windows fair?

Hello,
I am hoping someone can give me some advice regarding replacement double glazing.
I have received a quote for georgian style PVC double glazed sash windows. The price averages £750 per window. The same company has quoted £2000 to supply and fit an aluminium 2 panel double glazed folding/sliding door (£1800 in PVC).
The quote seems high to the advice I have read on this forum, but the windows and doors are bespoke items. The maker/installer is a small local firm; I have seen examples of the windows and they look absolutely beautiful.
We live in North London.

Out of interest how many and roughly what size?
I've recently managed to get quote at ~£780 per window; but that does include acoustic glass and upgradede to argon filled.
This was for 5 windows; a 3 section brick separated bay (where the 2 sides are pretty small!) and 2 other windows.0 -
Anybody else had uPVC sash windows installed? How much were they?0

If they are true sash windows (not fake tilty-turny) then £750 is fairly reasonable, I usually guestimate £500 per window for bog standard, so say half as much again for top quality and 2 x more expensive sash mechanisms per window - and at London prices - sounds like a fair price to me.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

God my mate fits windows been a glazer for years if you live in the north east give me a shout I could get him to give you a quote, that seems really steep to me those prices, just send me a PM
Thanks

just for a bog standard window you are looking at £3-400 so it doesn't seem to steep esp for london prices , if you're not happy get some more quotes from reputable local co's0

Sash windows in London, can cost £1800/£2400 each for the best quality ones.
Expensive doesnt guarantee best but cheap isnt necessarily good either.
look at earlier posts, very happy to assist with questions if you pm me. best fitter in that area is Barnet windows
sashmanBuying quality goods which last, should be an investment that saves money. :T
Buying cheap products which fail, wastes money and costs twice as much in the long run. :mad:0
