IP65 boxes. Any outside electrics need to be done by a part p electrician also. Unless you are just plugging them in inside the house?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Wire the lights up to a RCD protected socket/plug and no need to notify or get a sparks in.0 -

Plug timers into the extension plug, the plug the leads from your lights etc into the timers - simple really.
Cheap timers like this would do ;

if you wanted to get fancy you could put them on remote control using something like this;
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=42504&criteria=remote%20&doy=28m8
but dont pay £39.99 as they regularly reduce the price to around £24 in their monthly offers.
The box itself is quite big and will easily house typical timer units i know this because i am currently using 3 in my box for the pond.
FYI, they sell these boxes at most of the big DIY stores these days.0
