My Letting Agents are the Worst - who do I complain to?

My letting agents for the house I rent are the most unprofessional people I have ever dealt with and have a string of !!!! ups over the last year. The landlord is now selling the house and twice in the last week someone has come round unannounced expecting to be shown round after the letting agents told them to come round(Yes they want the previous tenant to sell the house for them, rather than coming to do it themselves).
Having complained and lost my rag at them before, I know they will do NOTHING in response. I want to know who their regulatory body is and how I make a complaint about them, so the next time they !!!! up I can threaten to take it to their regulator not them.
Anyone know who Im looking for/what I need to do?

Are you letting the unannouced viewers in?
I would write a letter to the LA stating that all viewings should be pre-arranged with at least 24 hours notice and that the LA should accompany and show the viewers around.
Thats just my opinion as a current tenant and Landlord.
My tenanted property is up for sale and my LA has to pre-arrange with the tenants over viewings.Turning our clutter to top up our house deposit: £3000/£303.05 we're on our way!0 -
Check the agents website for their regulatory body, if there is one. ARLA or similar. But they don't have to be affiliated to anyone.
A letter to the MD of the firm ?
Just turn the viewers away. They'll soon get fed up with disappointed viewers complaining.
And change the locks, so they don't hold viewings in your absence.0 -

I have done, although I am completely aware of the law that states they have to give notice, its not the people who come to the doors fault which is why I let them in.
My neighbour went into their office last week on an unrelated note and she met a couple they gave only THREE WEEKS notice to leave their flat, because it was being sold, which is another example of how unprofessional they are.
Writing a letter, I am afraid to say, will do nothing. I know this from the many times I have complained before. I want to do something that will wake them up and force them to act.0 -

Just checked their website, no sign of any affiliated body. Surely they have to answer to someone? Some sort of ombudsmen?0 -

You are protected by legislation. If they knowingly fail to comply with that legislation, then they will ultimately answer to a judge.0 -

If you let them in, you are accepting the wishes of the LA and they will continue to send them. Your rights are only effective if you are prepared to excersise them.0 -
There's no point complaining about the agent. They are not your agent, they are acting on behalf of the landlord. As said above, find out your rights and exercise them. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

There no one you can complain to as your letting them in there nowt you can do legally. STOP LETTING PEOPLE IN WITHOUT NOTICE.0

You don't even have to let them in with notice, you are entitled to "Quiet enjoyment" whilst you are a tenant. I think everyone is telling you the same thing here, don't let them get away with it.0

I totally understand why you feel like letting the people in when they're on the doorstep - as you say... it's not their fault. But if you extend that consideration further, do you really want to inflict your awful LA on them? In terms of taking action, could you get hold of the landlord in some way and let them know what's going on and that the LA are risking a void period by their terrible management? When we moved out of our last house we made sure our landlord knew never to use that agency again!0
