in Credit cards
i recently move a credit card to my mothers address , and still had one at my own address. i have a ikea store card which i had not paid which was under my address (nothing else is at my mothers address) and they i got a letter from debt recovery saying i owed money which was sent to my mothers address , i had not said i had moved or anything so no reason for them to send it there, when i phoned they said they had done a search well only the credit card company could have told them this info are they obliged to give them this info?

They will have got it from a search with Equifax of Experian. They will be able to see from that you applied for a card at your mums address.0 -

when you apply for your credit report it will show linked adresses , if you have a card at another address it will show on your report , and if you are paying that card they will see that the card for this person is being paid at that address so they will send it to you at a address that you are paying (i would also consider paying the IKea card too as this will damage your CR), when you apply for a card you are giving the right to certain info to be put into your credit report , this is availalbe to all that need to access your report so they have not broke the data protection act as it was the report that gave the info not directly from your credit card company !!
Hope it helps0
