Not been myself, more reviews here:-

Don't think on a bus route as on coastal road where there are no dwellings.
Ainsdale, the nearest town centre, is actually approx. a quarter mile walk and the trains into Southport are every 15 mins from there.
Sorry cannot be more helpful.0 -
hi, i have been to southport several times and enjoyed going, the site is ok and the chalets are clean, beds etc, the entertainment has always been good and plenty for the kids to do, there is a bus stop right outside the gates which will take u to the town centre plus funfair and swimming baths, i have never come away disapointed from there, hope the weather is good and u do have a good time, :beer:0

Hmm. Well we went to the Pontins Southport site last week. Plus points are that the entertainment is very good, bar prices are passable, its close to a great beach. It is on a bus route to Southport itself which is a nice seaside town, with reasonable costs and a good beach. Handy for Liverpool too, with its tourist attractions. The Pontins staff are excellent- great customer service. There is an excellent swimming pool with a proper deep end- 3 meters(about 9 feet). However... the reviews on tripadvisor are correct- it just is run-down- needs a big refurbishment. Everything seems faded, past its best, even as soon as you drive into the site. There is an on-site fairground which is expensive for what it is. The chalet we had reminded me of a cleaned up junkies bedsit. If you have upgraded to "Club" standard, and you expect to use the microwave oven, you will have to take some bowls to use in the microwave. Want to make a tuna pasta bake? Better take an ovenproof bowl too.
If you get decent weather you can make a great holiday- we had a good time because we were out of the chalet most of the time, but hand on heart I could not recommend it."In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act. "

we went there 2 years ago the chalet we had was very basic but we did enjoy ourselves , southport itself was 4 miles away and had loads of shops and a shopping park , the site is right next to a beach at ainsdale . i think it would of been a break for you just to get away from the routine good luck with finding a holiday soon0

i know what you mean but ...well....after reading all the reviews
Personally I find the offer an insult as carers deserve better than
than dirt & a run down holiday camp, dont we?0
