Usk Open Gardens Weekend June 26th & 27th

Once again we are getting near to the Usk Open Gardens weekend, the last weekend in June, when 27 private gardens open their gates to the public. This includes the garden at the romantic ruin of Usk Castle. Usk is a small picturesque town in S. E. Wales. It has won the Wales in Bloom competition for the last quarter of a century and the Open Garden weekend takes full advantage of this with pots, tubs and hanging baskets adorning the streets and creating a profusion of colour. There are numerous places for refreshment and a number of shops to visit. The Victorian Courthouse and Rural Life museum will also throw open their doors and, if you'd like to make a weekend of it, Usk has excellent hotels and B&Bs. The town brass band will be playing on the Saturday afternoon.
