Pruning Courgette Plants
I have a courgette plant with a few leaves that have turned brown and crinkly, new ones have grown and are doing well. Should I cut off the bad leaves? If so where should I cut it, just below the leaf or at the stem? It had its first flower yesterday morning. It has wilted and looks like it has died. Should I cut this off as well and if so where?

You could cut the brown leaves off. I've a couple on my cucumber plants but have just left them. As for the flowers on the courgette, I would let them fall off naturally. They will have wilted because they have been pollinated imho.0

I cut mine off and it is still doing well, think I cut it near where it joins the base.Ahhhh.... lemony fresh victory is mineee!!!0

But if you leave them on, they will help protect the base from drying out too much. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I would remove dead leaves and stems if you want to, it may help stop any rot type things setting in, but I wouldn't cut into anything, wait until the dead bit can just be pulled off by hand.
I've never done anything about mine, they rot where they fall.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I thought it had wilted because it had not been pollinated. There are no male flowers yet to pollinate the female flower that lasted less than a day.0 -
They wilt and fall off whether the flower is pollinated or not.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
