TFT monitor response time

hello people, i am looking to upgrade my crt to a tft, wantto know a little more on response times. i kind of know that it is sometimes measured black to white and grey to white etc, but what speed wouuld you recommend for a non-gamer, but serious dvd watcher? is 20ms ok for dvd playback?

i wouldn't touch a screen advertised at 20ms.
That maybe what a lot of screens end up running at but there is no way a manufacturer would describe it as such. It would be suicide.
Head for something =< 8ms
There is more to think about than just the response time.
If you search this forum you'll find plenty of threads talking about which tft to buy.
Also checkout tomshardware.co.uk who do independant tests of lots of bits of kit. They have a section for vga and graphics cards.

i got a 12MS 19" gateway TFT and its fine for everything from gaming to dvd's.
but these days you may as well try to get the best you can!0
