problem with wireless pc 2 pc connection

I've got my adsl shared from the pc using a wireless usb dongle, which works perfect on a ad-hock pc 2 pc connection.
Problem is, when anyone plans a game on the pc (full screen games, such as games downloaded from yahoo or gamehouse) is cuts off the connection..
any ideas ?

Buy a wireless adsl router?
(much safer than ics, takes the load off the pc, and saves electricity)

i had one till it kinda went *bang* on me lol plus the pc isn't based at mine so don't want to invest in one til i get my own connection.. thanks anyways..0
