DFS Gaurantee Policy

Help please please.
I bought a sofa from DFS 4 years ago and now the springs have gone on my very expensive sofa. Luckily I keep my reciepts and paperwork so still had the agreement number etc. Anyway after looking at their webite and going through their terms and conditions I read the section 'Your Gaurantee'. After reading through I thought yes I am in luck as it read;
DFS are the leading specialist in upholstered furniture and we go to great lengths to ensure that everything we sell is of the highest quality. DFS have the confidence in the products we sell that we offer a 10-year guarantee on everything we make and a 5-year guarantee for products that we have exclusively sourced from our supplier partners.
So I rang up my nearest store to see if I could get mine repaired only to be told that my slfa was out of warranty. Then I pointed out to their website and after a brief hold and the lady has a chat with her manager the she then tells me that the statement on the website was written in 2008 and I would have to pay for repairs.
Any help on this please? Could I pursue them for what they say on their website as there is no date on there?
What are my rights as the sofa is only 4 year, well not quite yet, old.
Any help would be well appriciated.

Their web site clearly states a 10 year guarantee, are they saying that this wasn't the case when you bought yours.

Yes they are trying to say that the policy on the website was introduced in 2008 and I bought mine in 2006.0

I think the fight your gonna have is the fact its four years old and out of your warranty although it has a ten year garantee so they will hit you with yes we will fix it but your gonna have to pay. So i would go down the faulty route they will then tell you its general wear and tear but i would fight the point that the springs should last the lifetime of the sofa and go to trading standards they were very helpful and also the furniture ombudsman they can send out an independant upholsterer out and help you fight the case against them and of course the clause on their website should have been removed if its not up to date its illegal to still have it there and id go see the citizens advice centre i very much feel your pain ive just won my case with them it took two weeks of staying firm if all else fails id tell them your taking them to small claims court which covers you up to £3000 and only costs about £40 to put in a claim and if it goes to court another £100 approx but it probably wont go that far.
I dont know where you are in the uk but i also went to the judge in the sunday mail and he also sent them a letter everything helps bombard them at every angle also watchdog.
Hope this helps and good luck stay strong0
