Premier Inn Group Booking nightmare

I've been trying to book a Premier Inn for a stag week end, and although they've got no problems with stag parties, I've come against all sorts of issues, including:
- daily changing room rates
- no fully flexible rates for bookings of more than 4 rooms
- all group bookings must include breakfast
- no group bookings possible on the website
- no response having filled in a group booking email form (they promise a response in 48 hours, it's now been 5 days)
- prices quoted over the phone (for more than 4 rooms) considerably higher than prices on the Premier Inn website (when booking fewer than 4 rooms)
I'm close to giving up and booking a slightly more expensive alternative - any advice on getting good deals on group bookings at UK hotels? Or on dealing with Premier Inn's ridiculous systems?

Well, being slightly tongue in cheek I am glad you are having problems....!!!
I stay in Premiers a lot and the last thing i want is a blooming stag party destroying my peace and quiet.
Why go more expensive? You will all probably be too p****d to notice wherever you stay. Get off to a Travelodge, they deserve you...0
