Students Going Abroad

Hello
Hoping someone can give me some advice.
My son has been awarded a place at University in Canada.
It is a great opportunity for him, not only to gain his degree, but also to obtain the sports coaching he wants in Volleyball to help him gain entry to British Volleyball Coaching scheme.
Problem is funding. We paid 2.5K to an agency, who have come up with practically nothing. This canadian uni, stumbled over him on the internet. They cannot offer great bursary - only 4KC$. We can't get a Student Loan here, if he is going abroad, Canada can't give him a student loan. We are applying for bursarys and grants where we find them, but we just wondered. Does anyone know of an actual place that helps you do this?

Student Finance Direct won't give you any finance to go abroad. It's very difficult to get finance for North America, if you're good enough it may be possible to get a scholarship....that's big business in the US, but I'm not so sure about Canada. Although I know they play Volleyball as part of the Big Ten in the US so those universities may be worth looking at.
The Fullbright Commission do funding for North America, I believe they do some undergraduate stuff but its mainly focused on post grads.0
