Hi was wondering if anyone can help - My friends are moving from South Africa to the UK later this year with children.
He is a British National (dual) but been living in South Africa for over 10 years and she a South African they have been married for 2 years. She has a 13yr old from a previous marriage and also a 2 yr old together. He will be working here in the UK - My confusion is :
1) Is he entitled to claim Child benefit for the children ?
2) Is he entitled to any working tax credits even if she has a no recourse to funds if he claims in his name ??
The information seems to state he is entitled to claim benefits but not quite sure
All the advice is so conflicting, and trying to get through to the UK Border Agency is a joke Please help Thank you so much

welfare rights or cab might be best able to help.0

As he is a British national, yes, he can claim these things for his child. Unless he has guardianship or parental rights (has he adopted the other child?) then I don't think he can claim for the wife's older child - but you need to check on that.0

Will he be in employment when he arrives?0
