sent email to sales dept. but annoyed the way some business do things..........
I am disabled and semi-housebound so not out very often and have to watch funds.
I bought a ergo range nailclippers for my puppy, I could not really afford them but prominet on front was yellow sticker clearly saying ,
BUY ERGO GROOMING PRODUCTS AND GET £5 OFF...ANY ERGO PRODUCT DISPLAYING THE MONEY OFF VOUCHER
on arriving home and breaking seal on sticker , there was advert for mobile dog grooming , which is different from offer displayed .
although not a lot of money I feel very cheated about it.
will you honour offer you display on product.
.....does that seem reasonable?

I don't mean to be nit-picky, but your post isn't very clear - advice may be a little more forthcoming if you can let us know:
What was the offer you thought you were getting?
Was there any small print, Ts and Cs or a leaflet attached to the offer?
Did you actually pay £5 more that you were expecting, or were you hoping to receive a voucher or similar for £5 off your next purchase?0 -
sorry not too well,
nail clippers for dog with prominet sticker stating buy ergo grooming products and get £5 off product displaying money off voucher , see inside for details, product labled as ergo grooming range , so I assumed [?] that the buyer had to buy product tear open seal to read and send away for £5 [ voucher ?]
on tearing open and reading , it was for £5 off a mobile grooming company dial a dogwash .com
it is not the money ,just fed up being takin in by this type of advertising ,
reply to email was....By buying an ergo product with the promotional sticker enables you to a discount of £5.00 from Dial a Dog Wash Grooming Service.Unfortunately we cannot honour your request sorry. The label is compliant and it does say £5 off Dial a Dogwash
+.....the lable only says that inside and on back section left on package after tearing off offer

how can companies keep getting away with this sort of thing.0

What exactly did the sticker say?Gone ... or have I?0

Could you put a picture of the sticker up?The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
4 people on the ignore list....Bliss!0 -
From what you say it seems misleading and potentially breaking advertising rules. However, would be better if you could get a photo of the offer so it can be checked more thoroughly. Sometimes companies are very careful with their wording, so although may be misleading it might not be illegal.0

I don't see where the problem is:
Buy any product that displays the money off voucher and you get £5 off the dialadogwash service
Looks and reads straightforward to me! It doesn't say anything anywhere about you getting £5 back against what you already purchased...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

sticker is quite clear to me,
the OP has only read what she thought it said ... happens all the time in shop where i work, people reading offer advertisements wrongly and then getting narked when the actual wording is pointed out to them0
