Pizza Express - won't book if under 7 people

My husband just rang and asked to book a table for 3 adults plus baby and he was told "we're booked out but it wouldn't matter anyway as we don't take bookings unless there are seven people". I know that most of the tables are for 2-4 people and I've never seen a group there. Hmmmm.

Have never tried to book with them but tried to book a local pub on a sunday for mums 60th birthday with about 25 people. They would not take the booking - told us to turn up at 12.00 to guarantee table. You can guess what we did!

That's strange, I've never had any problems booking a table for two in the past at Pizza Express... maybe the policy has changed..

I booked with them for three people just a few months ago and had no problems. Perhaps it's down to the individual restaurant?

We were recently turned away at the door because we didn't book! And it was only a Tuesday night and they weren't very busy.

An email to enquiries@pizzaexpress.com would undoubtedly answer what their current policy is.

    Pizza Express suck

I ordered a meal that had olives in the description - I got three olives on my pizza. I would have expected at least 8-10 not a garnish.

How tight is that. I have never been back since. Talk about profiteering.

    Is it not a franchise?

Probably down to the individual manager of each location.

Dont know as none near me.
