DMP Mutual Support Thread - Part 7

I'm now at the stage where CCCS have sent my offers to payment to my creditors and the initial letters are starting to come in. MBNA (who I have 5 cards with) wrote and said they'd be freezing interest and charges and agreed to my DMP which is good news.
I also received a letter from First Direct yesterday where I have an OD and CC. They said they'd be willing to accept my DMP as long as the first payment was received by 25th Feb (my first CCCS payment is 1st Feb so that's fine) and they'd lower the interest to 1.5%. They also said that they wanted to move my CC balance into my OD account so it's just one account for me and them to keep track of. The strange bit of the letter was that they said that they would be sending me a new CCA under separate cover for me to sign and return as agreements to the new interest terms, and as a guarantee that no further action would be taken. Signing the CCA would also indicate my consent to merging the accounts.
I've emailed CCCS for advice on this as I know that it's not a good idea to sign another CCA but I was just wondering what other DMPers thought about this.
Still waiting to hear from my other creditors (Barclaycard x 2, Halifax, HSBC, Intelligent Finance, John Lewis Partnership Card and Lloyds TSB). Bizarrely Lloyds TSB sent me a replacement CC as my old one must be about to expire!0 -
Please may I join you?
We're with Payplan for our DMP. We were with a different one earlier but they charged us lots of money for the privilege and one of our creditors suggested Payplan. We've been with them since June '10, but I've only just found this thread. Mu hubby turned 60 last January, so as of November our Income Support (I'm disabled - he's my carer) went up - odd how we suddenly need more money - as he now gets the pension credit equivalent. Anyway - I need to stop wandering here - I've contacted Payplan and doubled the amount that we pay them so our debts should be wiped off in 5 years rather than 10 :j :T
I'm just so pleased I thought I was going to be pushing 70 - now I'll only be pushing 65 :rotfl:Clutter free wannabee 2021 /52 bags to cs. /2021 'stuff' out of the placeYOU CANNOT BE ALL THE GOOD THAT THE WORLD NEEDS, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN BEtaken from Shelbizleee on YouTube - her copyright0 -
Welcome Ailz95, hope aboard our happy little ship.
Simmousm - I'm not sure really, generally it's said not to sign the CCAs but then, you've acknowledged the debt to FD, so I'm not sure what use it would be to them - the debt's acknowledged so there would be nothing to gain from falsifying an old CCA. But, do they really need a new CCA to merge the two accounts and treat them as one debt? I don't know but I'm sure someone will be along who does!

Yes its owned by lloyds now. But it has nothing to do with branch banking, HSPF is not being sold to the co op. It is only actual Lloyds physical branches, and accounts held in them.
That's great - thanks!LBM:1/1/12Debts @ LBM:£43,546  Debts now: £9,486  78% PAIDFound YNAB 1/2/14 - the best thing EVER!0 -

Earlier in the week, we got a letter from them saying that they'd charged us a 'return fee' as they couldn;t take their loan payment out by DD. We took advice from CCCS and then Mr BR wrote a letter asking for a refund of the fees as they shouldn't have been trying to take out the payment anyway as all DDs have been cancelled to that account.
Hi, they also knew that I was on a DMP and had not stopped charges. You need to ring or write and clearly state that you wish to complain as you feel you are being treated unfairly and you have been distressed due toyour treatment. Be strong it took me a long time to sort the Halifax out as we had OD and 2 CCs with them. Eventially they stopped charges and interest and even gave me £50 compensation for all the distress. Please try and ring they can take your complaint over the telephone. stress that you will take complaint further if they are unable to resolve as if you take it to the FOS they charge the bank approx £500!! (I think)0 -

We're planning to wait and see what happens from the letter we sent recently. Then, if we get no joy, we are planning to take it further as that's what the CCCS advised.
Part of the snag, though, is that I don;t think that Mr BR is quite assertive enough, or not as assertive as I would be if I were doing itOur LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93
Oct 2013 = Current debt: £39.054.70

I spoke to the Halifax on behalf of my husband. They spoke to him to get consent then I took over.0 -

If I can persuade Mr BR to speak to them, then that would work, but I suspect he won't. It all might have to be by letter. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

Just wanted to share an update for my situation! (It helps me feel better to post here)
CCCS gave me a call today after I emailed them yesterday with a couple of questions.
My last payslip indicated a small bonus and wasn't reflective of usual monthly salary. I wasn't sure what to send them. CCCS said a payslip from last 3 months is fine.
Also, I didn't give them exact figures for each debt (e.g. I gave £3850 instead of £3827.48) - again they're cool with that.
Final thing I needed help with was I rounded down my income to the nearest hundred pound when I initially applied. My payslip suggests £37.24 more to be on an exact footing, seeing every penny counts CCCS just told me not to worry about adding this to my budget plan, for now...
So far CCCS have been incredibly helpful and friendly.
I am yet to hear from any creditor, I've sent off the first letter about going on a DMP with CCCS and giving consent for creditors to talk to CCCS. Tomorrow will send off my CCCS pack with direct debit form and agreement and statements etc!
Whoopie! Hope it all goes well. And if I have hicccups I know you guys will be here for me
Thanks for reading!0 -
Well done Typhoo, it sounds like it's all coming together nicely. Keep us informed.
