Just found out today that CCCS put my Halifax cash account on my DMP instead of my current account. No wonder Halifax keeps chasing me for money.

They can be slightly more of a pain in the backside to begin with but you can't give them what you don't have at the end of the day.

My DMP has 2 PDL companies on it, Wonga and Mr Lender, and having started my DMP last month haven't heard a thing out of Mr Lender although Wonga keep trying to ring etc. I've just sent them a few letters (recorded delivery of course) explaining everything and although they keep telling me it's outstanding, CCCS are continuing with what I can afford. Until I hear otherwise, thay's what I'll continue to do too.

Posted my agreement off to CCCS on Monday and am about to get letters off to the creditors.
Really hoping this gets set up ASAP.
Am I looking at my first payment going out on 1st Sept now? I'm assuming I'm too late for August - so should I make token payments to each bill as they come in?

Thanks in advance - fab advice on here

Well done on taking the plunge with CCCS, I've been with them just over a year now and they have been great.

You should still make token payments as the bills come in, as it more than likely is too late for August

  • How regularly should I ask for updates from all my creditors? My review isn't until Jan next year, but I decided to send out letters to get updates (I think I may be paying twice for one debt, one to the DC and one to the actual bank!) and see what charges etc there are.

Also, should I still receive any statements from any of my creditors? The only statement I am getting at the minute is the CCCS one, and all of the online banking facilities I had have been disabled!

    eppp :)

Thanks very much - I'll do that :)

Glad you've had a good experience with them - hope mine goes smoothly as well. They seem really helpful and I'm just so relieved that something is getting done about this at last :)

Well done, I'm only 1 month in and live is a whole lot better already. If you miss an August start just send token payments.

Thank you - I'll def do that - maybe a fiver each or something.
I've just realised though that until interest stops/reduces, my debt total will actually continue to rise.......oh well, I guess that's the way it has to go until the DMP gets underway :)

Save yourself a bit of cash, and send them a £1 token each instead. You shouldn't need to send them any more than that. :)
