Well not really but i'm just a bit concerned as on a fixed rate interest only mortgage so when it comes to renewing this my default will still be on my file, i've got another 3yrs i think until fixed rate ends to try and improve my rating.

Thanks Mag i guess you're right about the quicker it being put on the quicker it will go, 6yrs though gulp

I have 3 creditors in total so i guess i kind of want the others to follow suit now really do i, does it make a difference how many defaults you have or just the fact you have one on file is enough to put companies off?

I just renew my fixed rate mortgage with my current provider each time with no issues. I don't even pay a fee. However you may get help from PP's mortgage broker. I'm not sure how much DMPs and Defaults affect rates tho. See below for their site. I've never used them so no idea what they're like.

Yeah PP can be like that. Ironically, I've always asked them to ring me at work during the day as it's easier to answer, but they always ring the mobile first.

Are you still with Payplan now? The majority of people on this thread seem to be with CCCS and as I am still in the setting up stages, I'm not sure who is best! How are Payplan for you, other than being a bit rubbish at calling at the right time?

Yeah I am. They're fine, but don't expect them or CCCS to be perfect, as they are under a lot of pressure I think.

I did lodge a complaint with them last year, which has been publicised on this thread previously, but I don't want to go into that, as the matter is done and dusted, and I'm still with them.

I sometimes wonder about PP's motives - they encouraged me to take an IVA, and have tried to sell me insurances and mortgages in the past. Other than that they are perfect.

  • Morning folks

Seems quite a few people having success with acceptance so that's good. Long may it last!

Agree with Ian, CCCS and PP are good organisations but at the end of the day no one is going to stand up for yourself like you are. A balance between a reliance of them and your own intervention is a good mix I feel. It's in the banking industries interest to work with them otherwise more people would look to UE and BR and then they wouldn't see their money back would they!!!!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend xx

yeah, I've just signed up with PP, they also tried to sell me an insurance policy which would have been £39.00 a month, for unemployment/sickness protection. I told them thats a risk I am prepared to take and would rather use the £39.00 a month to pay off my debts

Woo hoo! It's the weekend which means 2 lie ins  it also means catching up with washing and ironing and housework and kids asking for money to go out with friends and.... but hey ho you know me I'm not one to moan! :rotfl:

Went to Aldi last week after a few people in the staff room were discussing rising food prices and where they do their shopping. I always thought Aldi was cheap so it meant cheap, it certainly isn't. I have been in Netto and didn't like the feel of the shop, always looked scruffy and the quality wasn't that great either so never went back.

But I cannot believe Aldi prices! They're so much cheaper than Tesco. A pea is a pea is it not? So why do I want to continue to pay 39p a tin from Tesco when Aldi charges 19p. Family tease me a bit, they always take the pee out of me cause I usually go on about Tesco's latest offer. I can name prices of things and can even tell you what number aisle to find a certain item. I know I officially the saddest woman in the UK! :( But with rising shopping bills I knew I had to shop around and look for cheaper alternatives.

There are certain things I won't compromise on though things like toothpaste and loo roll. After the Tesco value loo roll trial two years ago which resulted in sore bums and walking like John Wayne for a week we decided to cut back where we can but we need some luxury! :D

    Enjoy the weekend guys x

  • Hi guys,

I've just had an email from Shop Direct regarding my Very.co.uk account. I only fell behind last month and to be honest, I just haven't had the energy to deal with them yet. I've sent them a token payment but no letter (on my to-do list for this weekend) and they've been hounding me by phone over the last few days and stopped yesterday which I thought was odd. The email said the following:

"We wanted to let you know about some important changes to your account. To learn more, please visit our website by clicking here.

It is important that you visit our website to read about these changes and understand how they may apply to your account."

So I clicked on the link and got sent to a PDF letter, which said this:
    "Dear Customer

    Notice of Variation

We are making some changes that apply to your Credit Account Agreement. Please read this information carefully and keep it for future reference as it contains changes to some of your terms and conditions. With effect from 25 June 2011, the terms and conditions of your account will be varied as
    follows:

Clause 2 of Key Financial Information will be replaced by the following wording:

    2. Repayments – You will be sent a statement every 28 days giving details of all transactions on your account during the period since your last statement or, if there has been no previous statement, since the opening of your account. The first payment will become due 20 days after the date of your first statement and all subsequent payments will be due 20 days after the date of the statement on which they appear. The due date will be shown on each statement. You will be required to make at least the minimum payment by the due date shown on your statement. The minimum payment on current balances will be £5 or 6% whichever is greater or the full current balance if less than £5. You may pay more if you wish to do so, including the Take 3 payment described below. Any insurance premiums due or default charges described below will be payable in addition to the minimum payment described above.

If you use the account to purchase certain items we may ask you to make an additional payment in relation to that item. This additional payment will not increase the price of the purchase. If this requirement applies we will determine and notify you of the amount and timing of the payment when you order the item.

    Kind regards
    Carol Brown
    Credit Support Operations Manager"

I have no idea what this means, is it good, is it bad? Is it because I'm in arrears or is it just something they're doing for everyone? Are they really allowed to send letters disguised as emails like that? Should I ring them up?

Any light that anyone can shed on this would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much, that is a big help to know you've got one too! I was worried they were trying to make amendments to my credit agreements so they could screw me further down the line!
