So...for the first time in ages I got a call tonight which went along these lines:
Them: Hi Ms XXX you are in arrears
Me: Oh hello - what a lovely sunnny day. I presume you have read the notes on the system about my account.
Them: Yes Ms XXX you are in arrears.
Me: Ok. Can you tell me if the notes about me being on DMP are on there? And if not, then here is my ref: XXX and I suggest you call them.
Them: If you don't pay your arrears it may affect your credit rating
Me: HAHAHAH. ok have you read the notes yet?
Them: Oh you appear to be in arrears.
Me: (trying to smile) Yes, that is why I am on a DMP.
Them: If you don't pay your credit rating may be affected. Please give me your credit card details so I can take the amount in arrears.
Me: I am afraid that I am on a DMP so you will only receive the amount you get every month from CCCS - if you are not happy with this please contact them.
Them: No - we can only take payments directly from you. Any other payment would have been returned so I think you are lying.
Me: Really? Please check the account - you will see that you have received a payment every month for the last year from a 3rd party.
Them: No - not possible. we do not accept 3rd party payments.
Me: Oh ok then - please refund me the last year's payments as clearly you can't accept them.
Them: Oh
Me: (by this time crying with laughter) Hhahahaahaaah.
Sometimes I love being on a DMP just to annoy em!!
Fraggle xx

So today i get home from a loooong day at work to a letter from Santander about my Asda cc, great news they have agreed to my offer and will stop all interest and charges, however i'm quite annoyed at the fact the letter is addressed to the completely wrong inital and a misspelt surname, they seemed to have been able to get all the details correct when they're chasing me for money but one important letter and they just get it all wrong, thanks Santander you bunch of idiots! LBM Jan 2011 :idea:Total CC Debt [STRIKE]£8621[/STRIKE]/£3530 Family [STRIKE]£734[/STRIKE]/£1123 Overdraft £50050% Paid *** DFD [STRIKE]Oct 2015 :shocked::shocked:0

I actually really dislike Santander have had numerous problems with them including them just deciding to close my account without my authority.
Well my happiness was short lived have just checked my credit report on callcredit and i've been defaulted by capital 1i'm so annoyed by this, i'm in arrears by 3 months so i know they can do this it's just very disheartening when you've actually explained you're struggling , oh well the 6 year countdown begins as i guess there's not really anything i can do about it is there???

art you're braver than me I havnt plucked up the courage to look at credit files etc I've just decided to write off the next 6+ years! I know its disheartening but at least we're doing our best to pay back what we owe and still retain a sense of humour and some form of life, keep your chin up your doing your best, mpaying what you can afford against faceless corporations applying interest etc randomly
take care xFinal no going back LBM 20/12/10Debt Jan 2011 [STRIKE]£28217.65[/STRIKE][STRIKE][/STRIKE] DMP start 01/02/11 -[STRIKE][/STRIKE]

The quicker they default you the quicker it goes
I had one that waited nearly two years into the DMP and then defaulted me - cheers!! But they were charging a small amount of interest and when they defaulted me the interest stopped - so I decided it was a good thing.
In any case - do you want credit again in a hurry?working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Well not really but i'm just a bit concerned as on a fixed rate interest only mortgage so when it comes to renewing this my default will still be on my file, i've got another 3yrs i think until fixed rate ends to try and improve my rating.
Thanks Mag i guess you're right about the quicker it being put on the quicker it will go, 6yrs though gulp
I have 3 creditors in total so i guess i kind of want the others to follow suit now really do i, does it make a difference how many defaults you have or just the fact you have one on file is enough to put companies off? LBM Jan 2011 :idea:Total CC Debt [STRIKE]£8621[/STRIKE]/£3530 Family [STRIKE]£734[/STRIKE]/£1123 Overdraft £50050% Paid *** DFD [STRIKE]Oct 2015 :shocked::shocked:0 -
Ahhh mortgage, sorry can't help much with that one - we rent.
I did read when I used to follow this thread regularly, that you need to go to a whole market broker to get you the best offer for your situation (rather than just the main banks), and a couple of people (around the time when I started my DMP a few years back) did successfully remortgage on a DMP with defaults, but know nothing further on that score, sorry.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Bit annoyed at Payplan this evening, I specifically told them to ring me after six but they rang me whilst I was work (which I ignored because I was working, of course) and left a message asking me to call back before 4pm! How am I meant to manage that if I've already asked them to call me after 6?
Anyway, they're not open until Monday now so I shall have to call on Monday evening and hope for the best. Sad that it makes this whole process a little bit longer.
Littlewoods - who have been bombarding me with calls all week - haven't rang once today. I'm worried!0 -

Yeah PP can be like that. Ironically, I've always asked them to ring me at work during the day as it's easier to answer, but they always ring the mobile first.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430
