Hi Maganan
We are so human aren't we LOL You can tell that you care about whether you are in debt or not and that you want to pay back your debts like we all do because of the worry and information that keeps going around and around your head - we've all been there and are still there some days.
First of all - don't let them get in your head space - it's your space and creditors have no business being in there! It is so very hard to do when you have others who rely on you to be there for them and we just can't stop our brains going from 'we owe some money' to 'what if I lost my job and house' in one jump. We've all done it!
Second there are certain words and phrases that I could write but would probably get chucked off here for typing them - anyway those words then SANTANDER! - as Miranda says 'don't get emotional we are not Spanish'! (Apologies for anyone who is Spanish it's just a joke from a sitcom). We were with Alliance and Leicester and they have been taken over by Santander just as we went into a DMP. We had a few teething problems getting Santander to accept our payments because they were not quite up to speed with integrating the two banks *rolls eyes*. Then we thought things were OK - they have been accepting our payments as far as we and CCCS are concerned although they keep sending us letters from different addresses! Today we get a letter saying 'we have no information about your DMP! I'm not concerned as we have proof that they have 7 months of payments so they can go and sort it out themselves or we will show their imcompetence in a court! So don't sweat it about Santander LOL It will be sorted out. I haven't actually heard of any bank or creditors not accepting payments before but there is always a first. You can always send it to one of the other creditors LOL
Third - 'everything will be OK'. Baliffs with any real power are the ones that come if you don't pay your council tax. Those from other Debt Collection Agencies are not allowed to visit you unless they have a court order to do so. Unless they make an appointment with you - and I don't think you will make any appointments with them - they can't come onto your property and if they did you have every right to call the police and have them removed for trespassing. That is IF it ever happens. You are doing the right thing - you are trying to pay your debts so there is no reason for anyone to be sent to collect money you are already paying to them.
Fourth - glad you were feeling positive - I hope you will feel positive again after this because you are doing so well and facing it all head on instead of burying your head. Three cheers for Maganan. Let CCCS deal with it for you.
Sunfleur xOh dear today seem to have lost my way, i've managed to stay fairly upbeat about all this so far after all its my fault etc etc, but today i had a letter from CCCS saying santander wont accept my reduced payment for one cc because of "contractual payment required". i checked thinking it was one who'd had a reduced payment this month (due to mergers alot of my debt is with them one way or another) but this was an interest free card and they'd had more than the minimum this month already. Now I'm so scared that none of my debt will be accepted and that this one will just get bigger cos they'll probably start applying interest. I spoke to a lovely lady at CCCS who said to inform them if this happens and also explained that they may just have accepted their quota for that day and that will still send what has been alotted from my payment! I know its my fault but it doesnt seem right that acceptance by the cc companies is such a lottery.
Now I'm really scared, what if they send baliffs around can they take my car if they do i cant work, if i sell it and get something cheaper it will cost more to run (mines v economical £30 tax and 600+ to a tank of diesel) should i put it in someone elses name or is this worse. I think i;ll be able to increase what i pay CCCS from next month now i've looked at where i can cut back but i dont think it'll make much difference to my creditors. i will also hopefully be able to make a small additional payment as when i get paid i should get a bit extra for working over the christmas bank hoildays. I know i'm rambling on a bit here but i dont have anyone else to tell and i cant burden the kids with this. To think yesterday i was feeling so positive cos i made a draft excluder out of an old pillow and turned the heating down half a degree!.............what a joke i am:(LBM: June 2010 DMP started: 1/8/2010

Reminds me of the old Vampire thing where they're not allowed to come into your property unless invited. Hmm, vampire/bloodsuckers = Creditors?DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi All
Sorry to ask but I am just in the process of setting up my DMP with Payplan after struggling to pay back spiralling charges from various pay day loans, however my case worker at PP has asked me for bank details of two of the high street store (H&T and HB) but I have never been given them and I don't want to call them to alert them to the fact that I am stopping all their cheques.
Any advice would be good at this early stage
Thanks0 -
Just received my first default notice for my smallest debt, an RBS card £1930
What does this mean for me? Its all mumbo jumbo to me. Will they take me to court or is it just standard practice?
I was hoping to contact my mortgage provider and ask to be put onto a fixed rate mortgage, but that just happens to be RBS so not sure they would even consider me now. I'm concerned if interest rates go up (i'm sure they will soon!) I might not be able to keep on top of my repayments.
This is the perfect end to a miserable day - i read you have good and bad days, today has definitely been a bad oneLBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130 -

Oh god you poor thing, you hold your head up and stay positive for so long than someone comes along and pulls the rug and your back to swimming through treacle! Try not to worry (I know given my posts earlier in the week that thats easier said than done!) let your DMP co know then just try and remember they're not going to refuse the money they're getting each month and they cant have anymore if you havn't got it.
Take care and remember tomorrows another day...........and you can cope with whatever it throws at you and don't forget the fab support hereFinal no going back LBM 20/12/10Debt Jan 2011 [STRIKE]£28217.65[/STRIKE][STRIKE][/STRIKE] DMP start 01/02/11 -[STRIKE][/STRIKE]

It is standard practice for them to default you after a while so try not to worry too much, it doesn't necessarily mean they are going to take you to court.
It's actually better for you to receive defaults earlier rather than later as it's these defaults that stay on your credit file for 6 years.
In my case, soon after my bank issuing me with defaults, the debts went to a DCA who stopped all interest and charges and I haven't heard a peep from them since.
I am also about to phone Santander to find out about fixing our mortgage rate so that will be interesting - I think that if you already have your mortgage with them it won't be a problem but I may be wrongDebt free Olympic Contender # 134DMP Mutual Support Thread member # 250DMP March 2010 [STRIKE]£9786 [/STRIKE] now £9900 -

Thanks, I've only missed one payment but I was upfront with them about how my finances had changed, so i suppose they are doing me a bit of a favour as they feel they will never get it back (i'm still paying them £10 a month towards it, every little helps) by defaulting it immediately.
Let us know about your mortgage, I will try mine too so fingers crossedLBM: 22.12.2010 :j Self-managed DMP start 29.1.2011DMP Mutual Support Thread No: 4130 -
Hi, everyone
I had a telephone appointment with the CCCS today and their recommendation was to put me on a DMP. I'm really not sure if this is the best way to go. Whilst I'm weighing up what I think are the pros and cons, I was wondering what other people's experiences were. I'm having a trawl through the thread but I was wondering if people could tell me what they're experiences have been. My big worry about entering into a DMP is what happens if a creditor does not accept the CCCS's payments. Also, has anyone had any dealings with Wonga on a DMP?
Many thanks
Hi, I agree with everything Ianmak has already said.
For me it was the best thing I ever did and I wish I knew it was an option earlier. It was difficult at first, changing bank accounts and shifting direct debits etc, and then there are the bazillions of phone calls from creditors which can be stressful, but you do kind of harden to it eventually, and it does quieten down in the end.
Some creditors will be more difficult than others but when you have made regular payments for a while they seem to eventually cotton on to the fact that you can't afford any more and accept your payments.
But it's all worth it just to see the amount of money you owe actually going down every month, and small things are SO satisfying like getting through Christmas without putting anything on credit.:D
Good luck whatever you decide to do
