Hi, i'm selling something on ebay that i really dont want to post.
Someone has asked if i would post but i will be about 55 miles from them in a couple of weeks and have said i would deliver it myself for the cost of petrol.
I have a Peugeot 206 that i believe does approx 45mpg, petrol is approx £1.20 a litre. Is it 4 litres to a gallon?
How do i work this out?
TIA

Are you charging for your return trip or just the 55 miles there? I think it works out about £8 a gallon of petrol approx.My daughters are my world0

Probably the return trip too. So that would be £16. It would cost £15 to post it anyway with the level of insurance needed so not much difference. Thanks

you need to take care, as if they pay by paypal you won't have a tracking number.
a naughty buyer might claim item not received and win a dispute because of this. will they pay cash instead at all?0 -

cost = distance_in_miles/mpg * 4.54 * price_per_litre
110 miles, 45mpg, £1.20 per litre gives just over £13.
ie: around 12p per mile.Happy chappy0
