Have you tried www.sitters.co.uk? Once you go through application process they contact you for jobs in areas you've told them you are prepared to work in, you get paid minimum 4 hours work (approx £20) then hourly rate afterwards, families can ask for you by name and you can choose if/when you do a job. I've been with them 3 years and it's been great extra money.

I havent been very DFW at all recently and need real motivation cos my overspend each month is getting ridiculous, might start small though :o

    1) 3 no spend days
    2) use OS board to ensure I only buy essentials from Tesco to last me as long as possible
    3) DO NOT go into Tesco more than twice!!!!!!
    4) Use http://www.fixtureferrets.co.uk/ to compare shop prices and deals before weekly shop
    5) keep up to date with spending diary & reporting on daily spend thread- hopefully that'll shame me into keeping my money in my purse!!
Married my wonderful husband February 2013!:happyhear
I want to wear my beautiful wedding dress everyday- it would make shopping so much more fun, I mean, people go shopping in their pyjamas these days.......
    Must STOP spending!!! :)
Proud to be dealing with my debts!

erm bit of a crap week, but i guess it's my fault for picking such random vague aims!

    last weeks,

1-as of monday attempt a wheat free diet for the week.... have made a good attempt at this, tho had a bagel for brekkie today
2-get as much sewing projects done as possiblenot really, i did the door curtain and a new skirt
3-have as many no spend days as possible (hoping to not spend till wed)nope, spent summit every sodding day
4-list another five items on ebaynope

i officially suck at achieving my goals

    however tomorrow is another day...

    this weeks aims

1-get spending under control (again) and try for at least two nsd
2-bake goodies to take to old work on tuesday (last day :j )
3-start new work and not get fired on first day
4-buy all bits for bday outfit on tues and start making skirt, then take back 'bought to copy' skirt
5-not buy any food all week, i have enough meals in the freezer to feed all the dfw's for a week!

think that aught to do for a 'getting back on the bandwagon' week!

    good luck everyone :T

2 20 items listed on ebay a week
    3 spend less at work

hopefully i can do all of this :)
  • Finish working out what each of my household appliances cost on an hourly basis (didn't realise my telly cost less than a normal lightbulb!! (it's 48W). But my kettle uses 200 times as much electricity as that!!
How do you intend to do this? how did you find out your kettle uses 200x more than light bulb.

1 - Have got Thursday off work, as I've gotta work Saturday, so Thursday morning ring round driving schools/instructors to get prices and try and book a trial lesson for the following week. YES, got a two hour trial lesson on Wednesday and only have to pay for one hour.

2 - Take packed lunch to work every day. YES

3 - Waiting on new 0% credit card to come through, so once it arrives, check if the balance transfer has gone through, then cancel evil Virgin credit card! NO, new card has come through, but not get round to cancelling Virgin card yet.

4 - Need to buy first class stamps, a birthday card, a few toiletries and send a letter air mail to Australia. Also will need to give OH £10 towards petrol to go and visit my parents on Sunday. No other spending (other than necessary food!) Nearly... Managed to only buy the things from the above list until Friday when I spent £4.30 on three magazines because it will be really quiet at work over the bank holiday. Didn't need to buy the mags as already have three library books to read!

5 - On Sunday, review how much money left as payday is following Thursday. See if I can transfer any small amounts left over into savings (either towards wedding or Christmas presents or split between the two.) YES - have transferred £27 extra into savings, on top of normal savings target! :D

    This weeks goals:

1 - Three no spend days, definitely no buying of magazines!
2 - Walk to work twice this week.
3 - Stick to healthy eating Mon - Fri and treats allowed at weekend.
4 - Apply for at least one new job this week (if anything suitable to go for) as not liking my current job at all!
