Oh poor you Ann. She (the neighbour) sounds evil. Handymen may not always turn up. If you go to your public library they should have a list of respectable tradesmen called the Checkatrade directory. They are all nice people and will turn up and don't take advantage either as we are women and not switched on at this sort of thing (in my case anyway).

    Thanks SW,

Yes, she is quite evil! Their garden looks like Steptoe's yard - if anyone can remember Steptoe!

I take your point re the handman. However, I think he is just busy but he does seem to want the work. Problem is, if I find someone else and then he turns up after all! I am going to give him until the weekend - he mentioned the weekend or the end of the week - but if he still hasn't turned up, I will ring him on Monday and ask him if he really wants the job.

And you are right, it is very difficult for women to have to cope with this sort of thing when on your own. Don't want to get sexist, though!

And just realise that I have had yet another rant!

    Good for you!

    Keep up the assertiveness!

And hope you didn't think I was implying that you would not know how to behave at the theatre! I am sure you are far too well mannered to do anything stupid!

Gosh Ann you are far too polite. You can say whatever you like as i love you. I think because i look short and am funny at work they might think I am thick. Crumbs. I have to be funny to pass time. They do have incredibly high opinions of themselves with little merit I can wipe the floor with them in many respects. Prats. But physically they are stronger. I do get cross with that. It is not fair. Why did God allow it. It isn't right. I will have words!!!!

    SW,

If you can do statistics you CANNOT POSSIBLY BE THICK!

Figures absolutely do my head in - I really hate them!

So, I have great admiration for anyone who can even understand them!
