Laymans terms for you SW - Di's post was a notice from OFT regards to closing complaints and whether consumers read contracts and "really" agreed to them - this is the relevant part from her post:"Consumers may not have either read or understood the contract and so are not in a position to declare that they have in fact done so. In this instance, the declaration is effectively meaningless and does not reflect the circumstances in which the particular consumer signs their contract," it said.
Ok, so the next part here:"The law requires consumers to be given an opportunity to examine all the terms in a contract.
Is what I am saying, the law - as such, is where UTCCR comes in! The OFT can only guide, they cannot create laws - you need an Act to do that (an Act is passed in parliament) and so the relevant Act here that overrules that OFT stuff is UTCCR...
