Bridesmaid dress dilemma

I bought a second hand Dessy bridesmaid dress from a wedding site,it had only been worn once and dry-cleaned before it was sent to me,anyway in the description given to me by the seller she said it was a deep red wine colour, similar to burgandy, which is what I wanted,in the photos sent it look lighter in colour and I questioned her about it,she assured me it was burgandy,it arrived today and there is no way its burgandy and more of a pinky/red colour. Now my daughter will be wearing this dress and I said she could wear it for her prom which will be just before the wedding, but now I don't know what to do,ask the lady to take it back, keep it for my daughters prom and then sell it but in the mean time look for another dress,I paid just over £90 for it and we are on a budget so can't really afford to go out and buy another one???????
HELP PLEASE!!!!

Send a message to her querying the colour, don't raise a "Not As Described" just yet, give her chance to explain & offer a refund. If she isn't being helpful, then raise a dispute with Paypal - you did pay by Paypal didn't you?

Unfortunately colour is very subjective, so one womans burgundy is another woman's redish-pink. That's the risk of buying online before you've seen it in real life.
You can ask if she'd be kind enough to give you a refund, but I'm not really sure how obliged she would be to do so.

If it really is worth that much, surely you can sell it on.

Hope you manage to sort it.

TBH I ditto Rainbows comment. One ladies wine is another's claret!

Gosh, and that doesn't help much does it? Re list it on e bay? Anyone here?
  • Yes I did pay by paypal and to answer the other question I am not sure she would give me a refund,I'm not angry about it cause the dress is lovely,I am just disappointed.Guess I just don't want to have to fork out some more money for another dress and probably won't have enough time to get it cleaned and advertised between the prom and the wedding! Thanks for your responses btw x

Why not chuck it back on Ebay on a 5-day auction?

Oh, really a little frustrated. I also order bridemaid dress online mostly the same as your dress color. Now I am :mad:to wait for its arrival. The seller assured me of no difference in color. I hope the fact will be turned out.
