Real wood flooring - Oak

Went in to Tops Tiles today. They have solid oak at £29.99 square meter. Not brilliant but if you buy a pallet load (£50 square meters) they reduce it to £25. - still adds up to a colossal £1250 though.
It is small strips but this looks OK to me. However from what people have said above I may og back and look at the engineered.0 -
I'm looking at oak effect laminate and also saw one in Topps Tiles. Not where I expected to find my flooring, but well it seems to look like what I want. We've got a whole house to do up, so trying to keep costs quite low.
Anyone happen to know it it's good quality from there?
This is the stuff I'm looking at - Vario English Oak 2V at £11.99 per metre.
