claiming benefit + tax

does anyone know if the inland revenue automatically knows when you are claiming benefit eg, jsa, or or income support are they informed by the dwp, been looking after my wife for a few years now (mental health problems) and receiving benefit because of that but used to pay tax when i was employed long before she became ill but have never heard any thing from inland revenue, just wanted to know if they new i was claiming benefit, apprecieate any help.

The two departments share information so if they do not know yet they can easily find out.0 -
