I had mine done for free too0

Had ours fitted today twas free, as was the last one we had fitted in our old house0

Should cost nothing. Soon they will be compulsory everywhere i believe. In the past you had a year to change your mind and go back to water rates ..not sure that still applies though. We're on rates as it works out cheaper for us.0

I had mine fitted for free about 14 years ago. My water rates at the time were over £200 a year and in the first year of being fitted, my metered costs were less than £100.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Our meter was fitted when we moved in as it was a new-build approx 7 years ago.
However, we are still paying LESS for a 4 bed, 3 bathroom detached house than we were for a 3 bed, 1 bathroom semi 7 years ago.
Just had bill in for Dec-Jun and it was still under £150.
Water rates in old house were over £400 per year.0 -
Looks like it's £217 to start with (if you live in Scotland)
Seems different here- I don't know anyone with a domestic water meterbaldly going on...0 -
Yorkshire water fit for free, & still give you a year to change your mind.February NSD challenge 5/150
