£900o/d with Halifax £5 a day charges- and I'm on a DMP!

Hi there,
I'm very worried about a letter I received this morning and was hoping to get some help before I approached them.
I had a student o/d with halifax, which stands at £900. I am paying it off at £10 a month and am on a DMP with CCCS. I am now a second year student nurse, so money is very tight. And they've already been setting me letters from a DCA demanding payment in full!
Today, i got a letter telling me they will now be setting my account back to a current account- so will charge me £5 a day for an overdraft which is unauthorised ( i think this applies to me, as my account is in collections) I cannot pay this money- I pay £40 a month on all my debts!
I'm worried about this. Can they make me pay this? If anybody is in a similar position, what did they do?
thanks!

Open a new "basic" bank account somewhere else, the type that doesn't have an overdraft. Pay your income into the new account. Ask Halifax to freeze your current account and make them an offer regarding repaying the overdraft. Hopefully they will freeze the interest in the account and accept your offer of repayments. You may have to increase the payment from £10 a month though, that would take 7.5 years to clear it (with no interest being added).Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
