Hi everyone,
I hope im in the right place.....My mum has just been diagnosed with MS, she is living in a privatly rented house and is working fulltime how ever she has been told that she will have to stop driving and eventually stop work im just a little worried as she hasn't any savings and am worried about how she will live the rest of her life. She is only 55 but has huge difficulty in walking and getting around hence why she will no longer be ablE to drive.
Does anyone know if there is any help out there for her or if there is someone who has been through this.
thank you all in advance for any help

She could try appling for Disability Living Allowance (DLA) if she has care or mobility needs arising from her condition. This can be claimed whether or not you are working.
If she is not working and/or her income is low enough she should be able to claim help with her rent and Council Tax.
A Benefits Advisor at the CAB will be able to tell her what she might be entitled to and help her to claim if necessary.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
