WTC 1st claim, very confused!

Hello, wondering if anyone can help me!
Myself and my partner put in our form for the first time this year. We have just recieved our award notification and apparently we only get £22 weekly CTC, not entitled to WTC. Last year our income was £26000 between us, so I guess this is why we're not entitled? We have an 8 month old baby. Our income for the next year will be considerably less as my hours have halved, it says to let them know this, but will it have an immediate affec on our payments? I'm panicking because we expected more than this and our financial situation is looking very bleak!
Any advice hugely appreciated - I can't get through to the helpline as they're 'too busy'.

Depends on how much your joint income will go down to. The cut off is just under 18k. So if the joint income will still be more than this you still wont be entitled to WTC.0

Hi, thank you for your response!
I just managed to get through and was told the same thing - my new income details take us just above the 18k cut-off (estimated) so probably still not entitled to WTC, but she did say we may recieve more CTC, so better than nothing!
Those online calculators are very misleading...
Thanks again
