ESA Pathways to Work Interview

I am on Income Related ESA and I have just received a letter saying that I am to attend a Pathways to Work Interview.
I have been claiming ESA since October and due to various delays at ESA's end I have not yet had my Medical Assessment so I am still on the 'Assessment Phase' of ESA.
So, just out of interest, what is the Pathways to Work Interview? I was under the impression that it was for people on the Work Related Activity Group or is that wrong?

Yes it is, so if you get placed in the support group then attending it would be a complete waste of time and energy (both the JC+ and you). The letter should give you some contact details for the adviser, ring them and ask to put the appointment off until you've had both the Medical and the Work Focused Health Related Assessment. It's the report from the latter which the adviser is supposed to use to work out how to help you.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
