webuyanyvan

Has anyone used or had any experience of the any of the web based sites that advertise to buy your van? (webuyanyvan dot com). Did it work? Are their valuations accurate? Any problems? Any comments gratefully received.

If it's anything like the car version they will not undervalue your vehicle, but also barter you down if you agree to let them come see it. My Mk4 Golf TDi, I sold 2yrs ago, they offered £1500 for & I eventually sold it (under market valuation) for £3400.

    Bargepole.

thanks for your reply - can you clarify...as your numbers seemed a bit different? did they value it at £3500 and you sell it to them at £3400? or did they value it at £1500 and you sell it through a different method at £3400? Thanks

They want to make a profit so will often either woefully undervalue, or try to beat the price down on a close examination of every slight blemish.

Plus they take £49.50 in fees. All clearly marked/informed but another cost to add into the equation. Not such a hit on a £10k car but lower value it all eats into the money

I have just PXed a 56 Focus Zetec. Got £4500 but we buyanycar originally quoted me £4200, and when I took the car to them they offered £3200! Or £3150 after the fees
  • Received a text , struggling to sell your van, didnt waste my money texting stop, didnt request the text or have any contact with them.

went to the website to see what they might offer, old van but mint, offered £50, but i had already sold it for £950.

for what? if i offer you £50 for your van do i need to be shot as well?

they made you an offer, you chose not to accept it. what have they done that requires them to be shot then other than offering very low figures that you don't have to take?

Agree "shot" is harsh but it's a figure of speech clearly.

this firm do take the utter pi$$. I'd never sell them anything but they do try and mug you off blatantly.

exactly. you'd never sell them anything. you'd chose not to just like everyone else can.

no one has a gun to people's heads. they make an offer, you chose whether or not you want to accept it. yes the offer is very low but that makes no difference really. just decline it and sell it somewhere else.

people seem under the impression that these companies are running a charity. they buy cars for the lowest price they can then sell them for the highest price they can in order to make the most profit.

that's how business works isn't it?
  • Of course they offer you less than market value. As soon as they have bought it off you they are going to send it to auction for a quick profit. Cut out the middle men and do it yourself!
