B&M Bargain madness stores doing `Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier` in 50cl bottles for 69p. Its a wheat beer and if you like Hoegaarden you might like this especially at that price. A reviewer from the oxford bottled beer database wrote "It is a golden/amber, cloudy beer with a thick, clinging, fine-bubbled head that lasts all the way to the end of the glass. Aroma is of vanilla and citrus fruit, along with some spicy, clovey notes and Juicy-Fruit bubblegum typical of the style. On the palate it is smooth and creamy, with just enough sparkle to make it lively on the tongue without being too gassy and maintaining a velvety smoothness. Light fruit (melon, lemon, a touch of lime) and vanilla flavours mingle with a subtle bitterness. There is very little sweetness and the finish is dry, leading into a slightly hoppy, vanilla aftertaste. A fine weissbier from Munich's oldest brewery."
It`s getting to the point

An excellent beer - one I frequently drink on draught when I am in Germany. You also see it a lot in other countries like Poland.

One of my favourite beers. Not to everyone's taste but one well worth acquiring. I bring as many bottles back from Germany as I can carry.0

Yes, it's great stuff from home. Connoisseurs drink it with a half a slice of lemon on top of about 2 inches of thick foam (pour slowly into glass).
Exactly like that:

I think these are the smaller sized bottles and in the case of the Hoegaarden, this means 33cl. Therefore, its just over £3.00 a litre, as compared to £1.38 a litre for the beer in the original post. That said, in my local Coop, they have vouchers where if you buy three bottles of Hoegaarden, you can send off for a free half pint glass.
I personally am currently drinking the 33cl bottles of imported Heineken that you can buy in packs of 12 at Waitrose for £7.99, making it £2.02 per litre.
