TRV's have to be fitted if they change the boiler and TRV's aren't already fitted. How much do they charge for a magnaclean? I've heard horror stories on how much they charge. Someone once told me £600. If i'm doing it as part of a boiler change I charge only for the parts plus a bit on top - £100. Fitting takes minutes. Alledgedly BG get their magnacleans for about £10.
Why are they going for a combi?
I guess combi for the energy efficiency and hot water on demand. The magna clean is £213.The radiators have got TRV's but he recomedmend that they should be changed in case of leaks at cost of £450. I have tried to tell my dad not to go with them. He has homecare 400 and he always get good service from BG and he says he knows they are more expensive but he has been watching rogue trader on tv and he is concerned. BG is a name he trusts, I give him, it is his own money and he is paying them 1k more. I guess, you cannot take change with gas if you do not get a competent person to do the job. Thanks for all your advice.0
