yeah, its a worry, though 9 times out of 10 they will pay, even if its unexpectedly by cheque 6 days later, when you've had no indication from ebay that thats what they are going to do...
plus newbies tend to be 'fussier'. they don't understand that cheques need to clear, or that sometimes the royal mail take a day or two longer than they expect to deliver, so i do tend to drop them more emails than a regular ebuyer.
but on the other hand, its nice to help a newbie on their way0 -
Newbie buyers aren't always the hazard they appear to be. A lot of them will be buying in order to build a good feedback record before selling something themselves, and some of them are even seasoned sellers looking to get a second selling account going for a different line. They're probably as anxious to see the transaction proceed as smoothly as you are.
Understandably, it's not always so easy to see it this way, especially if it's *your* auction that a newbie username appears on. When you think about it though, all our first bids probably threw up an 'Eek - Newbie!' alert in the eyes of some poor sellerEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -

lol. v true. i am a power seller but i have recently created a second 'buyer' account, so i can buy with one account without anyone relating it to my seller account. its interesting how people treat you with a feedback of 3 rather than 650! but yes 9 times out of 10 your average newbie will pull through and pay for the item...0 -
just remember we were all a ebay newbie at somepoint and just think that someone actually gave us chance to build up our feedback!! it should be fine!!0

true people... its 24 hrz after auction still no word or payment. hate having to w8 7 days. when i could easy give it to the 2nd highest bidder the diffrence is pennies.0

have you emailed them!! maybe its because they are new they dont know how to complete the checkout process!! maybe email them and give them so many more days to pay! and ask them how they intend to pay!0

I'm a newbie to ebay - so far have only bought one item at just over £200 - I contacted the seller as soon as I had won just in case and there was no problem at all. He delivered the item and I paid all within a few days.
Everyone has to start somewhere!0 -
I agree everyone has to start somewhere, but might be getting my fingers burnt this time as someone promised to send a cheque and nothing has arrived within 10 days so farOne day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
