I love Ebay bargains but...

I've bid on a few bargains lately and have not received them. I've either been sniping or snapping items up at stupid times.
1. Wedding outfit, 99p + p&p - binned by grandma (supposedly)
2. Gillet BNWT, 99p + p&p - not received, refunded by customer service
3. Page boy outfit, 99p + p&p - not received (paid 28/6/10)

I just wish these sellers had put a starting price they would be happy to accept instead of fobbing me off or just not delivering
Anyone else won a bargain that never turned up? What did you do?
Caz x

Items do go AWOL sometimes though, not all selers are trying to pull a fast one.

but some people list at 99p to avoid listing fee then decide not to sell and say its lost in post etc etc, pointless claiming for a 99p item.i never list for 99p if i want more for it.i decide what i think it is worth and list accordingly.and what about people who charge 99p and inflate the postage? i recently bought,or tried to buy 3 a4 size unframed prints,99p auctions.won all three, seller had put down she combined postage.she wanted £2.99 for each item.so she combined to £5.98,for one a4 cardboard envelope, all 3 items in one.queried it,unreasonable in my opinion, even 2.99 is excessive really but i would have paid it.in the end i did pay as i wanted the items.she then decided to refund me and open 3 unpaid item disputes?wierdo!!lol. i contacted ebay and they agreed to remove them if it went to a strike as i wasnt doing anything wrong.
my point is why dont people just list for price they want with reasonable postage instead of trying to avoid fees, which are cheap enough anyway.then they start causing hassle when they are forced to sell for 99p as bids didnt happen.i recently bought a fantastic iron and glass coffee table for mum for 99p.guy just laughed when i handed the pound over, learnyt his lesson i think.lol

Ah the joys of private sellers who think it is oh so clever to start everything at 99p regardless.

I've had 'private' sellers try and compete with my business account and end up getting such poor feedback that they cna no longer sell anything, it gives me a bit of satisfaction when that happens actualy. I had one item, started at £6.99 and routinely sold at between £8-£12, not a huge market but a good steady turn over as long as i didn't flood the market. Several 'private ' competitors came in starting at 99p and at first they were achieving the same end price as me, but suddenly the prices dropped and i started getting my opening price of £6.99 and they often sold at 99p. Then a week later the negative feedbakck started on them along the lines of 'seller refused to sell at winning bid' or 'yet again item lost in post-watch this seller'.

I replied on another thread about this sort of thing.
I do list at 99p if I am happy for it to go at that price only. Thankfully in many cases it will rise up (especially if a good make eg Next etc). If I think it is worth more than that I list at more than that (mostly paying to do so but sometimes taking advantage of free listing weekends).
Sellers not meeting their end of the deal deserve negative feedback unless they have a very good reason, and perhaps the rest of their feedback shows this to be a rare occurance!
