I tend to look for holiday accomodation online via the local tourist board web-site. Most often I then phone them to book.

As this thread is ongoing a couple of other things for owners.

Read the visitor book and fix faults. We stayed in a cottage in August and visitors going back to March this year were commenting that the TV was missing channels including BBC1 and the hot water supply was poor.

I fixed the TV in 5 minutes by doing a full factory reset and retune, but I wasn't willing to replace a combi boiler!

Please also go through the places of interest files. Timetables fom 3 years ago are no good to anyone as aren't leaflets and menus for places which have closed down. We did our bit and threw these away.

If you have a diary then make a note in March/October to change the VCR/clock/boiler timers. We went on holiday to one lodge where we woke up freezing because the heating came on late.
