I think there's a wee bit of confusion here. You're right Lokolo, this new offer with Moneysupermarket.com is only available if you open a new account.
outofbounds is referring to the non-marketed, branch only, £50 switching incentive - this is available to new and existing custom.Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.0 -

bankingbuff wrote: »The email alert this week states you get £50 cashback via a cashback site for switching your bank account to Halifax, While this is true there may be a far simpler way!! usually for limited periods you can get the same deal in your local branch so PLEASE check first!! You get personal service and the £50 credited that day!!! Far more efficient!!
The criteria to transfer and recieve the £50 is to transfer your salary, and your direct debits( atleast two) from your existing provider. We have a dedicated switching team that do the switching for you for free.
The reward account gives you £5 per calendar month you credit £1000 or more.
Aswell as this, the email failed to mention for being a main banking customer you may benefit from the rewards package which includes preferential rates and/or benefits for mortgages, savings, and credit cards all subject to status of course!
I know Cambridge branch are offering this for a limited time as i work there!!
Hope people find this helpful!
Many thanks
Felicity
And of course by going into branch you help the staff reach their sales targets to enable the bonuses to be paid.
I didn't think touting for business was permitted on MSE !0 -

Outofbounds is 100% right concerning the branch based £50 offer, although I rang halifax too find out which local halifax in my area, was offering the £50 for 2x DD and a monthly credit (such as pay) to be switched.I,m self employed and still managed it once they understood being a sole trader etc
I received £50 this week on one of four , of my reward accounts that were already opened since last year, this happened soon as the gas and elec DD were taken once transfer was complete.
Wondering if I can pull another £50 on each of the other three reward accounts?
Anyone done more than one "branch switch" on multiple reward accounts for the extra fifty?
So long as they get the commission I don,t think they care less,a banker is always a banker.
As for £1000 per month funding
Someone else on here stated that they used overdraft on one reward account, to fund £1000 for seconds or minutes too other reward accounts then straight back in and received no authorised overdraft charges% or daily charge as it was so quickly done.
Can anyone else confirm they have done this and didnt receive a daily charge or otherwise?0 -
Well I moved mine away from Lloyds and I still got my £50.
So you can do it!0
