Can anyone tell me why my avatar is not displayed properly since the site was upgraded? There used to be a genie coming out of the lamp but she doesn't come out of it anymore. How can I get my avatar back to what it used to be?

have you tried uploading your avatar again?
it looks like it's been saved as a normal .jpg image rather than a .gif
That might have happened during the upgrade...Laters

Thank you for responding. I uploaded it again as a .gif but it is not appearing properly. Any suggestions?

I have the file saved on my laptop as a gif and when I view it on my laptop it is displayed as it should be. When I attempt to upload it to this site the following message appears under the box for option 2 "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 14.9 KB (whichever is smaller)." The image is saved to open with Internet Explorer. It is 19.3KB and it is 51 pixels x 80 pixels.
Any suggestions this time what I am doing wrong?0 -

It says what you are doing wrong - the animated gif is bigger than the maximum allowed filesize so the system has converted the first frame to a jpeg. When I attempt to upload it to this site the following message appears under the box for option 2 "Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 80 by 80 pixels or 14.9 KB (whichever is smaller)." It may be that the limit used to be higher or possibly the version you saved isn't what you had before. You'd need an animation editor to optimise it and make it small enough to use. I have one and don't mind trying to do that. Upload it to an image hoster (eg tinypic.com ) then put it in a post and I'll see what I can manage to do. It may not turn out precisely as it was or I may fail completely but I'll try0 -

Thank you very much! Sorry I do not know what details you actually require but
HTML for websites is <a href="http://tinypic.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i48.tinypic.com/xek1ao.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic"></a>
the IMG code is
URL is http://tinypic.com/r/xek1ao/6
direct link for layouts is http://i48.tinypic.com/xek1ao.jpg0 -
Run it through this http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/imageoptimizer/index.php and use the url http://i48.tinypic.com/xek1ao.gif ...you'llbe able to choose a file size and quality there
It knoks down the number of colours...reduces filesize, such a tiny image it doesn't show.
