what is the best program to make a DVD with all the holiday pictures that I have

I would like to have some music and maybe some fancy transitions

i'm using ulead cd and dvd picture show 4 as its available as trial download (think 10 day) fully functioning - http://www.ulead.com/dps/trial.htm

I don't mind paying......

I was looking at adobe products......but still not sure

best one I know is Sony Vegas, its an excellent package and so easy to use, you can also add video clips as wellas images, and has a good effects range from one image to another, as well as incorperating sound or music of your chioce

One bit of advise with doing a photo slide show, is concentrate on the photo's and not the special whizz bang tacky effects. Keep it simple, cross fading the photo's with the `Ken Burn's Effect' (Zooms into or out of a photo slowly, they use it in films and tv alot) always works best I've found.
