I want to buy but can anyone confirm if I can?
I have 2 ccjs but still have a credit card, csa for 2 children to pay, a student loan, I service all debts but only because Im living rent free deceased parents home etc how do I afford to move somewhere if evicted? Im on 23k. but if where I live sells Im likely to get 15000. Would a mortgage company touch me? with only 250 a month disposable I couldn't afford to rent anything in the area (500 ave) that would have rooms for the kids to stay in due to shared care? I would have no deposit in savings in 5 years time if having to subsidise rental costs! Any solutions out there?

  • Sorry but are you saying that you will get a £15,000 lump sum from the sale of the house you currently live in?

What is the total of your debts across students loans, credit cards and anything else?

    What is your CSA commitment?

What are the ages and sex of the children? Can't you or they sleep on a sofa bed when they visit rather than having extra rooms?

Why do you want to take on yet more debt (mortgage) and the commitment of maintaining a house when you are already in financial difficulties? Use the £15K to pay off your CCJs and credit card, then you won't be paying crazy interest rates and you can start repairing your damaged credit rating. If you post a Statement of Affairs we can try to advise how to economise to be able to afford rent.
