Cutting a long story short...

I brought a ticket to see a band, this is a short notice warm up gig. In a small venue (O2 Acadamy). I brought the ticket through Gigs and Tours.

Tickets went on sale 01 June for a concert on 12 Jun. I paid the following:

Ticket - £24.75 (with booking fee)
Transaction: £2.00

These tickets were to be delivered to my address.

However yesturday I spoke to Gigs and Tours/ See Tickets who stated that the doubt they would post my ticket, however could arrange for collection.

Today I recieve an email reguarding the above. However according to the tracking system the web site says they have posted my ticket today.

I also spoke to the venue who stated that at such short notice they would not be sending the tickets to gigs and tours.........

So when I ask for a refund of my transaction fee, I get told no....

So heres what their own web site states.

"Why oh why do I have to pay a service charge?
The price of a ticket is set by the event organisers. They don't pay us anything to sell their tickets, so in order to make money See has to charge a little bit on top of the face value of the ticket. We have to do this on a per-ticket basis to cover the cost of providing a 7 day a week, 24 hour a day booking service, order processing, labour costs, credit card commissions and all the other costs associated with running our business. The actual amount we charge is negotiated with the venue or promoter for each event.

Transaction Fee? What's this?
The transaction fee covers the costs of processing your order, packing and delivering the tickets to you. In many cases it also covers the cost of producing your tickets. This fee can also applies to tickets arranged for collection.
Note: the transaction fee applies per order not per ticket. If you purchase six tickets, you only pay one transaction fee.
The transaction fee will vary depending on what type of postage we are being asked to use by the event organiser and these costs are reflective of the amount that See are charged by dispatch companies. First class post and Registered Post prices will vary accordingly.
Note: See only send tickets securely for events that do not issue duplicate tickets in the event that tickets get lost in the post.

So whycharge me £2 for collecting the ticket from the venue other than to make money. The venue holds 500 people, so in my mind if Gigs and Tours sell 350 tickets (allowing for tickets sold elsewhere) they have just made £700 for doing the sum of not a lot!!!!

Any advice?

Because they are a business, and unless they make money on the transaction, it's not worth their while. Could you not have booked direct with the venue - they are usually the cheapest source for tickets?

Advice? Forget about it, its only £2 and the terms state clearly they will charge a transaction fee for each order to cover processing costs. It even says "This fee can also applies to tickets arranged for collection." I cannot see any reason why you are due a £2 refund, so no wonder they refused. If you didn't agree to the terms then you shouldn't have booked with them.
