ISP phone number?

sorry to be a real novice here, but i'm just trying to set up a new lappy to my broadband account. its asking for my ISP's phone number, which i cant find. i am with wanadoo, now orange, and presumably it means the number that connects me to the internet??

You would only have a telephone number for your ISP is you are using dial up so not sure why they would ask this if you are using broadband.

You don't use telephone numbers with broadband. How is your lappy trying to connect to the internet ? Are you using your lappy instead of another machine at your home ? Are you trying to share a broadband account between two or more machines ?
By asking for a telephone number it looks like the system is trying to access a dial-up modem. You might need a CD with the right software on it to access a broadband setup if it plugs into a usb port. Having something that works is a very good reference point. Describe this and put what you are trying to do in context.

i am trying to share my broadband access between my pc and my wi fi enabled laptop. dont know if i need routers, lappy was trying to connect itself at first startup, and this was one of the questions it asked.
