£55 one way Bristol-Leeds WITH a railcard..?
I'm trying to book a train for the 6th September Bristol-Leeds (well preferably Bristol-Bradford but I thought maybe Leeds would be cheaper?). I have a Young persons railcard and it's months in advance, and only 1 way- why is it so expensive?! What am I doing wrong? It's even expensive just to go to Birmingham- £26 for just over an hour on the train.. Is that just an expensive day/week/am I missing something?
Looks like I'll be getting a sore bum on the Megabus!

I've tried everywhere.. they're all giving the same price for an anytime single not and advance single0

You are too early for the cheaper tickets.
For example, looking at a similar Monday in early August, that trip can be done for £21.80 using an Advance Single with railcard. That's to Bradford Interchange, btw.
To Leeds its only £16.85.
Have a look at this National Rail webpage to help work out when the Advance Singles become available.0 -
Thanks, I had a feeling that might be the case!0
